The Latitude X-Ice Xi2 is Michelin’s Studless Ice & Snow winter tire developed for the drivers of vans, crossover and sport utility vehicles, as well as light-duty pickups that want a boost in winter driving confidence. Latitude X-Ice Xi2 winter tires are designed to combine X-tra ice and snow traction with enhanced handling on wet and dry roads.

Michelin’s FleX-Ice silica-based winter tread rubber compound (offers firmness at higher temperatures for wet and dry road stability while it remains flexible at lower temperatures to enhance packed snow and ice traction) is molded into a directional tread design that helps evacuate water and slush to improve hydroplaning resistance. Independent shoulder and intermediate tread blocks feature a combination of multiple micro-pumps and Cross Z-Sipes to deliver traction on ice- and snow-covered roads. Additionally, the Cross Z-Sipes increase tread and shoulder block stability to provide the lateral and longitudinal stiffness that enhances driving precision on dry and wet roads. The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wound polyamide cord to optimize the tire profile while enhancing high-speed capability.

Latitude X-Ice Xi2 winter tires meetthe industry’s severe snow service requirements and are branded with the mountain/snowflake symbol.

NOTE: Snow platform indicators (the equivalentof “snow wear bars”) are molded into the Latitude X-Ice Xi2’s tread grooves to inform the driver when ice and snow traction will be reduced as the tire’s treadwear reaches the point where the remaining tread depth becomes less effective in deep snow.

I had a BMW X3 and the tires that came stock on it were less than desirable. Run flats. With the original tires on the X3, it handled horribly. When I put on the X ice tires it was like driving a whole new vehicle. Night and day difference. Instead of slipping and sliding,I drove with confidence. It didn’t matter what the driving conditions were like, I knew I could go through it. I drove with them all year round mainly because I didn’t want to purchase two sets of tires. These are primarily winter tiresbut they performed well all year round. 40000 mile tread life is accurate. This is based on the number of miles in relation to the tread wear on the tire. You can’t go wrong with these, they’re the best. All driving conditions for me include the mountains, highway, city,rain, snow and dry conditions.

I live in Colorado where we get all types of weather. I have had this model tire on three different vehicles, Audi A4, BMW X3, and Audi Q7. This review is based on the Audi Q7. ObviouslyI like this tire or I wouldn’t have put it on three vehicles. I have driven instanding water on the highway and it was like the water wasn’t there. Slush youhave to be careful no matter what vehicle you drive. These performed very well. Light snow I drove as if it hadn’t snowed and deep snow 18-24" I moved rightalong. I might add that I have 35 years driving experience in all weather conditions and Audi Quattro is superior AWD. Without superior tires that wouldn’t matter to much. Point is these tires are the best and I recommend them to anyone. Remember vehicles with AWD and 4X4 take off great but no vehicle has all wheel stop. Good tires really help but common sense works best. Expect 40000 miles tread wear as rated.

Purchased the tires after a 30" snow event, but not installed as my X4 was still being built. Light snow and heavy rain traction excellent. Below freezing ride also excellent. Dry road noise levels almost inaudible. I would recommend this tire.
